Though it has just two ounces of rum, it feels much more complicated than it actually is. This lovely drink was served in Don The Beachcomber’s Cabaret Restaurant in Waikiki in 1958, though the recipe was created in the 1940’s.

This tropical boozy cocktail was originally created at the Tiki-Ti. This version has first been remixed by Beachbum Berry and then adapted by the Smuggler’s Cove. So quite a few capable minds improved on this whopper of a drink. It’s a multi-layered rum adventure that starts with fruity honey, continues along to spice and caramel, ending with the the punch from the overproof rum slowly filtering to the bottom of the glass.
